M State-Fergus Falls Counting On Former Tigers

By Kyle Gylsen - Fergus Falls

A pair of former Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta baseball players are among the top players for M State-Fergus Falls this spring.

Jake Torgergson is projected to be one of the top pitchers for the Spartans, while outfielder Tanner Picht should be one of the top position players.

Outfield Tyler Henrichs of Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta and Luke Schwartz (P/OF) of Benson are also on the Spartans’ 2014 roster.

According to M State head coach Jarrod Asmus, the Spartans’ pitching staff will be young overall, however it will be a talented group to work with.

The outfield should be an athletic group of arms with range, while the infield will be young and inexperienced.

“The offense will be solid top to bottom as many new players with great talent have joined the Spartans program,” Asmus commented.
